St Stephen's Youth

To be more like Jesus tomorrow than yesterday

St Stephen’s youth ministry seeks to support young people to be disciples of Jesus who will be sent by him to make more disciples (John 15:8; Matt 28:19). We run a variety of programs (weekly youth group, camps, conferences and special events) aimed at seeing young people in years 7-12 be more like Jesus tomorrow then they were yesterday.

SHIFT
SHIFT

SHIFT is our annual youth camp in the Term 1/2 school holidays. It’s a highlight of the year for our youth community, with over 100 people coming together to explore God’s word in a unique way, made possible by this four-day camp. Across the camp, there are 5 all-in sessions, a stage-specific seminar, a choose-your-own-adventure seminar, discussion and prayer groups, awesome activities and plenty of free time.

The camp is hosted at the Crusaders Campsite in Lake Macquarie.

Baptism and Confirmation

From year 10 and up, we invite young Christians to make a public declaration of faith. In the lead up to Baptism and Confirmation

Leaders In Training
Leaders In Training

Leaders in Training is a pivotal camp for raising Christian leaders. Partnering with Youthworks, over 3 years, young leaders are equipped to understand a New Testament and Old Testament book and a Gospel. But it’s really a launchpad for young leaders to serve in our local church and schools, to represent Jesus and share the good news of the Gospel.

Mentors

Our mentor team is pretty great! A team of dedicated volunteers who serve young people involved with St Stephen's Youth. Every adult involved with our youth ministries has a current Working With Children Check, Safe Ministry Training and Certificate and is regularly involved in continued safe practice training.

The team is led by our Youth Minister, Toby Macgregor.

Safe Ministry

All of our volunteers and staff involved with ministry to young or vulnerable people have current Safe Ministry training and certificates, as well as current Working With Children Checks.
