Baptism and Confirmation

September 14 7:00 - 9:00 pm  |  St Stephen's Normanhurst

2 Kenley Road, Normanhurst NSW, Australia

This is a special opportunity to publicly declare your faith in Jesus, surrounded by your church family and friends. Whether you’re exploring baptism for the first time or feel ready to affirm the promises made for you at your baptism, we’d love to support you on this meaningful journey.

What is confirmation?

Confirmation is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus. It is an opportunity to stand up and publicly confirm that you trust and follow Jesus, and will continue to live for him.

What if I wasn’t baptised as an infant?

That’s okay! Our service is a service of baptism and confirmation. If you weren’t baptised as an infant, you can be baptised as a teenager or adult and make the same promises, confirming that you trust and follow Jesus, and will continue to live for him.

When is the Baptism and Confirmation service?

7 pm on September 14.

Preparation

If you’re considering baptism or confirmation, come along to 4 ‘classes’. These sessions will help you be more confident in the Christian faith, and decide whether or not being baptised or confirmed is the right decision for you. Doing these classes is not a commitment to being confirmed, although they are necessary in order to be confirmed. The sessions will run on Sunday’s from 4:00-5:30pm at church. The first session will be on August 17.

What if i can’t make the sessions?

The sessions are really important, so your encouraged to make every effort to be there. If you’re not able to make one, than we will organise a catch up session during the week. If you’re not able to make any of the sessions, it’s better to wait until you’re in a position to attend the sessions in Term 3 next year.

I lead during 5pm, how will that work?

We’re stoked that you’re considering confirmation. While you are an important person in your service team, confirmation is a special milestone for you and we want to support and celebrate what God has been doing in your life. So don’t worry you won’t be letting your team down by coming to these sessions even though you’ll miss 4 weeks of serving.
